Christmas Eve Afternoon at the Farm

When our children were growing up, we spent Christmas Eve with Bob's sister, Claudia and her family. Now that we are in Utah, we have spent it with Bob's brother, Bill and his family. This year it was at the farm where they are currently living.

When we got there, Valeria was busy making the most delicious food for us to snack on. Chiara had made a wonderful ham & cheese pastry that I just couldn't get enough of! And neither could Madi!

Bill made the kids wait until 1:30 p.m. to open their presents from us.....which seemed like an eternity to Emi. They then had to open them one at a time which they all complained about! Emi got a Nerf Blaster......Chiara got the book, "Inheritance"......Jade & Madi got some craft beads to make bracelets and necklaces......Sophie got a baby doll with accessories.

After opening presents.....it was time to PLAY!!!!!
Jade & Madi immediately began working on some bracelets.

Sophie had fun with Uncle Bob and the baby dolls.

John, Angelica & Vaughn came. And then Bobby, Holly, Elizabeth & Robert showed up. Grandma spent time reading and playing with Sophie.

Elizabeth LOVED being out with the animals, as did little Robert. They loved the goats, horses, chickens, ducks and the kitty.

Everyone took a turn holding little Vaughn. I especially liked the pictures of Chiara with Vaughn. She is anxiously awaiting her new little brother in April.

It was fun to watch little Robert & Sophie playing with each other. They were having fun feeding everyone in the room AFTER they fed themselves!

All in all.....it was a fun Christmas Eve Afternoon at the Farm!

Tough Day for Vaughn!

Little Vaughn had a particularly tough day. This was his day to be circumcised. Ouch! He began by being measured.......it took three tries before they got an accurate number. He is 21 1/4 inches long.

He weighed in at 6 lbs 1 oz. So he has now lost 9 ounces. He eats all the time, so go figure!

He also had to have blood drawn from his little foot for the PKU. He was not happy about that... Poor little guy!

Mommy tries to console him.......

"I didn't like that and I'm telling my Grandma on you!"

Well....Sweetie.....wait until you find out what happens next!

Hey! That's COLD!!!!!

Wait.....you're going to do WHAT?!?!?!?!?

(Notice the worried look and the crossing of the legs!)

Strapped down and ready to begin! (We'll spare you the sordid details!)

Do you still love me, Baby?

Here is Vaughn telling Daddy via Skype how mean everyone was to him. Poor Baby.

Glad this day is over!

Birthdays

This month we celebrate two birthdays.....Deborah's on the 2nd and Grandma Nash's on the 19th. We always enjoy celebrating with a birthday dinner. This year Deborah requested "Chicken w/Raisins and Seeds " for the main dish with Razzleberry Pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was fun to cook the requested meal...... When we were ready we put rice on each plate, topped with the prepared seasoned chicken. That was topped with grilled onions and the Raisin & Seed sauce. We enjoyed asparagus and rolls with Martinellis as our beverage. As an added bonus to the celebration.....Claudia and Rich were here in Alpine and joined us for the festivities! After dinner Deborah opened her cards and then we enjoyed dessert. She made me PROMISE not to use any of the pictures I took of her.....so instead I will put some up of Colton.

Here we have Colton enjoying the Christmas spirit by saying "Ho Ho Ho" to the teddy bear.

Daddy Dave is showing Colton how to love the teddy bear. (Oops! How did Deborah get in the picture?!?)

Colton is trying to see if that is a mask Grandpa is wearing!

Because Claudia & Rich were here, we decided to celebrate Grandma Nash's 87th birthday a little early. Bill & Valeria and their children met us at Mimi's Restaurant for an early dinner. Claudia brought dessert, including a cake with brightly colored candles for Grandma to blow out. Bill's kids were especially excited about the different colored flames from the candles.

We do enjoy our birthday DAY, WEEK, & MONTH! Happy Birthday Deborah & Grandma!
